Bass Fishing Tips

If I could only use 5 baits, what would they be?

For me, the top 5 bass lures are challenging to pick because every bait excels in a particular situation.

However, Megabass Vision 110 is a revolutionary jerkbait with realistic colors, sharp hooks, and great action. The new Shimano World minnow flash is another excellent option as it is subtle, effective, and can trigger strikes from wary fish.

Spinnerbaits are a great lure for bass fishing because they create a unique vibration and flash that attracts Bass. In addition, the spinner bait’s blades spin and disturb the water, which triggers bites from the Bass. The combination of the blades and the silicone skirt also creates an enticing action that attracts fish. Spinnerbaits also come in various sizes and colors so that you can choose the best lure for your fishing conditions.

The Senko worm by Gary Yamamoto is considered one of the best lures for catching Bass. It has become trendy among beginners and advanced fishermen due to its extraordinary effectiveness and ease of use. The Senko is a versatile bait that can be fished with any rubber worm rig and in most bass fishing scenarios, and it is especially effective when rigged Texas-style or Wacky-style. It is best fished by casting it out, letting it sink to the bottom, and then lightly jigging the rod to make it pop up and flutter back down. Senkos come in various colors; the five-inch Green Pumpkin with black or red flakes is the most popular. The 4-inch works well, too.

The Chatterbait or bladed jig is another excellent lure for covering water like the spinner bait. Power fishing is where you use lures like Spinnerbait or Chatterbait to cover lots of water. It has a blade on the front that vibrates to attract fish and is easy to fish. It is also great for going through vegetation.

I would also add a jig to the arsenal. Fishing a jig for Bass is a very common and versatile way to catch Bass. Jigging for Bass is a technique that requires a skirted jig and a plastic grub or craw imitation trailer worked along the bottom or reeled through the middle of the water column. Bass jigging works around the country in big and small bodies of water. A jig can mimic numerous bait profiles like crawfish, gobies, perch, and panfish. Jigs are most used on Baitcasting equipment with a heavier line that excels in dense cover, allowing anglers to punch their jig through thick cover to fish the shallows, drag their jig along the bottom to fish deeper structure, or swim their jig throughout the water column to search for fish in-between depths. Additionally, the jig works excellently with short casts, pitches, and flips to visible cover, often with the Bass grabbing the lure as it falls. The basic jig is one of the most versatile baits a bass angler can have in their arsenal, as it can be fished in about any depth and is excellent for tight fishing cover.
